The Short Story

Welcome to License to Dye!  A one-woman operation based in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee.

I'm Kelley, a Tennessee gal through and through, and I love yarn.  I love to pet the yarn, squish the yarn, make things with the yarn, and dye the yarn.  I've been making things with yarn for many years, and I love finding interesting fibers with interesting color combinations.

When the yarn is on the drying line and I'm left to my own devices, you'll find me hiking, reading with a cup of Yorkshire Gold tea, or hanging out with my two sweet pups, Otto and Gus.  (Well, one of them is sweet, but I love them both.)  I also love to travel.  I've done several solo road trips around the US, so if you have any recommendations of fun little towns or interesting places to see off the beaten path, I'm all ears!
